Week 4 Homework #1

This week's material will deal with the field of cytogenetics, and we will be studying both the normal arrangement of chromosomes and how errors in chromosomes (particularly in their number) can result in genetic disease.

Read the following two short articles:

• Human Chromosome Number
• Karyotyping for Chromosomal Abnormalities
• Note: this second reading is a bit more complicated than the first, but I think the questions that I've pulled from it are pretty basic.

They can be read in either order, but I think reading them in the order listed above will make slightly more sense.
